The University of Northern Iowa, or UNI, is a state-supported university located in Cedar Falls, Iowa. It was established in 1876. UNI has been consistently named one of the "Best in the Midwest" in the Princeton review's Best 351 College rankings guide. The university offers more than 120 majors through the following academic divisions:
The official mascot of UNI is the Panther, and their sports teams are nicknamed the Panthers. They participate in the NCAA's Division I (I-FCS for football) in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, and in the Missouri Valley Conference for various men and women sports.
Cedar Falls, Iowa is home to Northern Iowa. Cedar Falls is a medium-sized city. The school is a public institution. Degrees at Northern Iowa go up to the Doctoral degree.
