University of Oklahoma, also known as OU, is a coeducational, public research university located in Oklahoma, United States. It was founded in the year 1890. The Princeton Review (2007 edition) named the University of Oklahoma one of its "Best Value" colleges. The university offers over 150 bachelor programs, more than 155 master programs, and over 70 doctorate programs. The Norman campus is organized into several colleges catering to different areas of study. The OU-Norman campus is divided into three sections:
The University of Oklahoma’s sports teams are nicknamed the Sooners. They participate in the NCAA's Division I-Bowl Subdivision and in the South Division of the Big 12 Conference.

The school is known for its programs in science, media, and liberal arts.
