Overview
Founded in 1855, the University of San Francisco (USF) carries a reputation for excellence and has today evolved into the city’s largest independent university campus, covering 55 acres on a hilltop near Golden Gate Park. Established as San Francisco’s first institution of higher education, the University is committed to becoming internationally recognized as a premier Jesuit Catholic urban university with a global perspective and a mission of educating leaders who will fashion a more humane and just world. USF offers certificate programs online through its School of Business and Management. These online programs consist of three eight-week certificate courses, each building on the last in a step-by-step progression.
Points of Distinction
Areas of Study
USF online students can earn their master certificate entirely online, with no actual classroom attendance ever required. Certificates are available in two top-demand fields: Supply Chain Management or Sales & Sales Management. The Supply Chain Management certification program covers functional perspective, tactical implementation, and strategic best practices of supply chain management. Topics covered in the Sales & Sales Management program include expert selling, transitioning to sales management, and expert sales management.
Admissions
Steps to apply for admission consist of downloading an SIU application form from the university's website, completing it, and returning it (by email or hard-copy). Distance learning applicants need to take the additional step of completing two surveys (also downloadable from the site) in order to ensure that they feel comfortable with online learning.
Faculty
USF's online courses are taught by real-world experts who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to instructional development and delivery. Their expertise, imparted via interactive teaching methods, creates a dynamic learning experience enhanced by a proven combination of Virtual Classroom tools, online instructor-led discussions, and streaming video.
Student Body
USF enrollment exceeds 8,500 students, who represent virtually every state and more than 65 foreign countries. Many students enrolled in the University's Online Master Certificate programs are individuals hoping to break into or advance within the supply chain management or sales/sales management fields.
Student Life
Online students reap the benefits of the highest educational standards merged with state-of-the-art technology. In partnership with the University Alliance Online, USF provides a state-of-the-art e-learning system enveloped within a multimedia environment that lets students study at their convenience and work around their busy schedule. Classes are conducted in a streaming video-based learning format which gives students a "better than live" learning experience. The streaming video feature allows students to pause, rewind, and review lectures until mastering each topic. Each course is carefully designed to maximize student interaction with fellow students and instructors alike, causing many of them to enjoy this online format more than a traditional classroom.
