Overview of the University of Scranton
Founded in 1888 as Saint Thomas College by the first bishop of Scranton, the University of Scranton is a Catholic and Jesuit university which has graduated more than 38,000 students over its storied history. Located in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the University has been ranked as one of the top 10 Master's Universities in the North for the past 11 years by U.S. News & World Report. The University currently offers two online Master's degree programs designed for working teachers looking to earn their graduate degree in a convenient manner. Students in the online programs have the flexibility to "attend class" whenever they want and the benefits of being taught by the same professors who teach on campus and earning the same advanced degree as on-campus students.

The University of Scranton Admissions
The application process can be done largely online and can be started by contacting the Graduate Admissions office. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution; however, the degree need not be in education. A valid teaching certificate is also required for applicants to either degree program.

The online faculty consists of skilled, practicing professionals from the University's 250-plus faculty body. In addition to their academic qualifications, online instructors have been selected by the University for their specific ability to work effectively with adult professionals.
