The University of South Florida, or USF, is a public research university system located in Tampa, Florida, United States. It was founded in 1956. The university offers various degrees and programs. It is organized into the following schools and colleges.
USD’s sports teams are nicknamed the Bulls and their official mascot is the Rocky D. Bull.

Prospective students are advised that admissions are not open to all; the school selects from among qualified applicants. University Of South Florida attracts a lot of applicants every year, and can only accept about 50% of them (as of 2007). Three quarters of students in 2007 had SAT verbal scores of at least 510. Half of math SAT scores of accepted students fell between 520 and 620.
