The University of St. Francis, also referred to as USF, was named after St. Francis of Assisi. Founded in 1920 by the Congregation of the Third Order of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate, the main campus of the university is located in Joliet, Illinois. USF offers its students degree and certificate programs in varied study areas through its 5 colleges, which are:

  • College of Arts and Sciences
  • College of Business
  • College of Education
  • College of Nursing and Allied Health
  • College of Professional Studies

The male students of USF participate in sports such as basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis and football, while the female students participate in sports such as basketball, softball, cross country, golf and tennis.
