The University of St. Thomas, also known as UST, is a coeducational, archdiocesan, Roman Catholic institution of higher learning located in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It was established in 1885 as a Catholic seminary. UST is named after St. Thomas Aquinas, a medieval Catholic theologian and philosopher. The university has four campuses in St. Paul, Minneapolis, Owatonna in Minnesota, and Rome, Italy. It is organized into the following academic divisions:
UST’s athletic teams are nicknamed the Tommies. UST is a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) which performs at the NCAA Division III level.
The range of program offerings available from University Of St Thomas is especially impressive compared to its number of students. Students at the school often study business and management.
The admissions department at University Of St Thomas does not accept all those who apply. Most students' verbal SAT scores were in the range of 530 to 620 in 2007-2008. A quarter of students admitted in 2007-2008 scored 650 or higher on the math SAT.
