Upper Iowa University was founded in the year 1857. It is a private, non-profit university offering enrollment to more than 6,000 national and international students every semester. The main campus is situated in the city of Fayette, in the midst of the scenic Volga River Valley of northeast Iowa. UIU also has a number of off-campus locations in different parts of:

In addition, Upper Iowa University offers courses through international centers in:

UIU offers several associates, bachelors and master’s degrees in areas of study like arts, science, education, business administration and public administration. Certificate programs and online learning courses are also offered by UIU.

The athletics teams of UIU are known as the Peacocks, and the team colors are blue and white. Its men’s teams participate in football, soccer, basketball, wrestling, baseball and golf, while there are women’s teams in volleyball, soccer, basketball, softball, golf and tennis.
