Utah State University, or USU, is a public land-grant university located in Logan, Utah. It was originally founded in 1888 as the Agricultural College of Utah. It became Utah State University in 1957. The Princeton Review (2009 edition) ranked Utah State University as "Best western 120 schools 2009". USU has old ties with the Department of Defense and NASA. The university offers a wide variety of degrees in more than 200 majors. USU is organized into 7 academic colleges:
Utah State University's sports teams are nicknamed the Aggies.
The school offers a wide array of programs of study, compared to other schools of its size. Utah State students most commonly major in a field related to engineering and landscaping and horticulture.
The school does not accept everyone who applies. In 2007-2008, SAT verbal scores of half of students were 470 to 600. Three-fourths of students accepted in 2007-2008 had SAT math scores of 490 or more.
The school offers tenure to reward and retain some professors. Salaries for full-time faculty at Utah State are higher than most, allowing the school to afford quality teaching.

Many students are part-timers. Student athletes at the school belong to the Western Athletic Conference for major sports.
