Utah Valley State College, also referred to as UVSC, is a publicly-funded college located in Orem, Utah. It gained the status of university and was renamed Utah Valley University, or UVU, in 2007. It offers more than 55 bachelor degrees and over 250 career-preparation programs.
The official mascot of Utah Valley University is the Wolverine. The athletics department of the university fields men’s and women’s teams in various sports and they compete in the NCAA. They are nicknamed the Wolverines. Some of the notable alumni of the university are Ricky Allman, internationally renowned painter; Noelle Pikus Pace, World Cup Gold Medalist in Skeleton; and Ronnie Price, NBA basketball player for the Utah Jazz.
