The Vanguard University of Southern California, established in 1920, is located in Costa Mesa, California. It originally began as the Southern California Bible School which was founded to prepare Christian workers. The Bible school moved to Pasadena in 1927 and was chartered as the Southern California Bible College in 1939. The college moved to its present location in 1950 and nine years later its name was changed to Southern California College.
