It enrolls more than 10,000 students. Ventura College is part of the Ventura County Community College District. It offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study.

The athletics department of the college fields various men’s and women’s sports teams that participate in diverse sports. Their sport teams are nicknamed the Pirates. The Pirates are winners of the WSC Athletic Supremacy Award (2007-08).
