Vermilion community college, VCC, is a 2-year community college in Ely, Minnesota that was opened as Ely Junior College in 1922. It was named as Ely State Junior College in 1964. The name of the college was then changed to Vermilion Community College in 1973.

Vermilion community college offers 5 types of academic programs including the Associate in Arts Degree, the Associate in Applied Science Degree, the Associate in Science Degree, the Occupational Certificate, and the Occupational Diploma.

VCC’s Ironmen and Ironwomen, who participate in a variety of intercollegiate sports, are members of the National Junior College Athletic Association and the Minnesota College Athletic Conference. The college has numerous on campus clubs and organizations including the Wilderness Club, the Water Tech Club, the Paintball Club, the Fly Fishing Club, and the Chess Club.
