Virginia Western Community College, or VWCC, is a two-year college located in the Franklin-Colonial neighborhood of Roanoke, Virginia, United states. It was chartered in 1966. VWCC is the third-largest college in the Virginia Community College System. It operates under policies established by the State Board for Community Colleges and the Virginia Western Community College Board. VWCC’s campus is situated in Southwest Roanoke and spreads across an area of 70 acres. The college enrolls more than 9,000 students annually. It offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse subjects.
VWCC’s men’s and women’s sports teams compete in intercollegiate sports. They also have a cheerleading team. All athletes must meet the VCCS Intercollegiate Athletics requirements. The sports teams are nicknamed the Blue Stars.
