Washburn University, or WU, is a co-educational, public institution of higher learning located in Topeka, Kansas, United States. It was established in the year 1865. WU offers many undergraduate and graduate programs as well as professional programs in law and business. Washburn University enrolls more 5,000 undergraduate students and over 1,000 graduate students every year. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:

Washburn University’s athletics department fields various men’s and women’s sports teams. They are nicknamed the Washburn Ichabods and the Lady Blues. They compete in the NCAA Division II sports.
