Overview of West Coast University
Founded in 1909 as an ophthalmology school, West Coast University (WCU) today is a leader in nursing and health care administration educational programs. Located in Southern California, WCU provides an innovative career-focused climate targeted for working adults who are interested in nursing. The University operates two California campuses, located in Anaheim and in Los Angeles. WCU is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and the California Board of Registered Nursing.

West Coast University Admissions
An online information request form will yield details about the admissions process. Applicants are first requested to engage in a personal interview with the Admissions Office in order to view the University's facilities and equipment prior to completing application forms. Applications and transcripts of prior academic experience are reviewed by the appropriate Academic Dean's office to assess the applicant's eligibility for admission as well as the acceptability of credits transferred.

West Coast University Student Body
The preponderance of WCU students are working adults motivated to improve their skill sets in order to advance in the healthcare field. WCU enrollment is about 300 students, approximately 80% of which are female.
West Coast University Student Life
As a commuter school, WCU is sensitive to the concerns of its commuting students. Depending on which campus the student attends, WCU offers on-campus parking, carpool groups, and student passes or college discount programs for public transportation networks. The University's Student Services enterprise provides students the opportunity to become involved in campus associations such as the Student Council or the campus chapter of the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA). Three times each year, WCU holds Student Appreciation Days, featuring refreshments, entertainment, and themed costumes.
