Widener University, a private, coeducational university located in Chester, Pennsylvania, was established in 1821 as a preparatory school for boys. It was given its present name in 1979. The main campus is covers more than 105 acres and the university enrolls more than 3,000 undergraduate and over 3,000 graduate students. Widener University offers associate's, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in diverse areas of study. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:
Widener fields more than 15 varsity teams both for men and women. The teams compete in Division III sports within the Middle Atlantic Corporation (MAC).
