William Carey University, also known as WCU, is located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, United States. It was established in 1906 as Mississippi Woman's College. In 1954, it was named William Carey College, after William Carey. It also became coeducational that same year. In addition to the main campus in Hattiesburg, the college has campuses in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Gulfport, Mississippi. The college is divided into the following academic schools:
WCU competes in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. They are nicknamed the Crusaders.
