Wittenberg University, established in 1845, and is a private college of liberal arts located in Springfield, Ohio. The campus of the college is spread across an area of more than 110 acres. The institute offers over 60 majors and several special programs to the students. It also offers a number of adult education programs. The student body of the college consists of national and international students representing more than 35 states in the U.S., and over 25 countries around the world.

Wittenberg University's athletics department sponsors more than 20 varsity teams. The teams are known as the Tigers. They compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, and participate in sports including basketball, baseball, football, softball, and golf.
