Worcester Polytechnic Institute, WPI, is a private university in Worcester, Massachusetts that was established in 1865. The college, which occupies an 80 acre campus, offers programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels in science, technology, and management, as well as others. The 2010 edition of "America's Best Colleges," U.S. News & World Report placed WPI in its list of America's Best Colleges.
WPI participates in Division III of NCAA and is a member of New England Wrestling Association. It has baseball, basketball, field hockey, football, softball, soccer, and volleyball teams, among many others. The institute also has a vibrant Greek life with thirteen fraternities and three sororities. Students can additionally choose from over one hundred and seventy five clubs and organizations including the Science Fiction Society, Students Promoting Animal Welfare, Motor Sport, the Society of Martial Artists, and the Indian Student Organization.
