Job Description - Poorly Written Example 1

Here's an example of a poorly-written description for the job of Production Engineer:

The company I work for is a leading supplier of MILSPEC DS3 switching systems. I'm responsible for maintaining existing products on the production line. I interface with component engineers and production supervisors to help resolve problems that come up on the production line. I write ECOs and submit them to the Change Board for review. Our production line operates using the latest DX-4 ERP system from ABC Solutions and I use it to help streamline production operations.

I also help introduce new products into the manufacturing process. I work with design engineers and help them design their products for improved manufacturability.

It seems we spend most of our time in meetings in this company. It wasn't like that at the last company I worked for, so this one has a problem. Sometimes I'm asked to write up multiple reports on what I'm doing but no one seems to ever read them or do anything with them. What these management people do with their time is beyond me. I think it's not as bad at other companies. And don't get me started on my boss. I can't tell you how many times I've asked him for some help in getting a new piece of test equipment only to have him ask me over and over for a new justification for why we need one – even though it's obvious.

Why this is a poor example:
