CityTownInfo's Survey Fundraiser for Lincoln-Eliot Elementary School

Please read the terms and conditions below carefully to ensure that your answers meet our requirements for acceptance.

1. Qualifying jobs. We require that you are in a full-time job (minimum 24 hours per week, on average) that generates income. Volunteer work, parenting/homemaking, and home schooling are examples of jobs that do not qualify for our survey. We also require that you are either currently in the job or have been in the job within the past year. 2. Age. You must be at least 22 years old. 3. One survey. Only one survey submission per person will be considered for acceptance. 4. Survey results that we publish will result in the stated donation to the Lincoln-Eliot Elementary School. We reserve the right to reject any survey submission for any or no reason but we will not publish any survey without providing the donation to the school. 5. Word minimums. For a few questions, we provide a minimum number of words that we feel would adequately respond to the question. If all of the minimums are not met, we reserve the right to withhold payment. However, we do look at the survey results as a whole to determine completeness. 6. All surveys must meet a minimum level of quality, as determined solely us. Below are some guidelines to help you create a high quality response: * Target Audience. Keep in mind that the audience for these surveys is composed of primarily high school students, young adults, and career changers who may have an interest in your profession, but probably have (at best) just a basic idea of what people in your profession actually do. Treat this as an opportunity to educate someone about what your real day-to-day experience in the job is like. * Whenever possible, give examples. E.g, if one of the tasks of your job is to "Consult with the Director of Marketing on press matters", give an example of what that might be and what role you would take in the consultation. E.g., "I usually write a draft press release of a new product launch to use as a tool for discussion before we bring in our outside public relations agency to write the final release." * Avoid jargon. Try to avoid using acronyms and other jargon that might confuse someone unfamiliar with your career or company. If you do use industry-specific terms, please define them for those who may not be familiar with them. * Avoid personal job issues. There's limited value in focusing on issues like managers (whether exceptionally good or bad) and other pitfalls or benefits that are exceptional to your specific situation. * Corporate job descriptions. We will not accept responses that appear to be a reiteration of a company's job description. Instead, we are looking for responses that are in your own words and reflect your experiences in the job. 7. Your privacy. You do not need to provide your name, personal information, or name of your company. We will not publish the name of your school or your city or town in conjunction with your survey response. Readers will be interested in the nature of the work, not your personal specifics. Providing your e-mail address is optional, but you must provide an e-mail address to be eligible for the $200 cash prize drawing. Your email address will only be used for the drawing.
