Brawley History
The city of Brawley was incorporated in the year 1908. Initially, it was just a "tent city" of only 100 persons involved in railroads and the earliest onset of agriculture. The city had a population of 11,922 in the year 1950. The population growth was rather slow during the 1960s to the early 1990s. Recent developments in the city have made it a chief cattle raising center in California.
