Grover Beach History
Grover Beach was founded in 1887 by Dwight William Grover who planned to construct a hotel and railway station nearby. It was later incorporated in 1959. The name was changed from 'City of Grover', to 'Grover Beach' in 1992. Amtrak began its railway service through the city in 1996.
