Rio Vista, California is 12 miles NE of Antioch, California and 31 miles S of Sacramento, California. It is in Solano county and part of the Vallejo-Fairfield-Napa metro area. 

Rio Vista History

Rio Vista was founded in 1857 by Colonel N. H. Davis. The area was named Rio Vista in 1860. During the floods of 1961, the city experienced a lot of damages and was forced to move from its original upstream location. The rebuilding of Rio Vista started in 1862 and was officially incorporated in 1893.
