Rio Vista History
Rio Vista was founded in 1857 by Colonel N. H. Davis. The area was named Rio Vista in 1860. During the floods of 1961, the city experienced a lot of damages and was forced to move from its original upstream location. The rebuilding of Rio Vista started in 1862 and was officially incorporated in 1893.
