South Pasadena History
The landowners of present day South Pasadena and Pasadena voted and renamed their association to Pasadena in 1875. In order to gain more control, the inhabitants of South Pasadena voted for incorporation in February of 1888. The city of South Pasadena was incorporated on March 2, 1888 and William Collier became the first mayor.
