Seaford History
The first settlement in the Seaford area was recognized as "Martin's Hundred" and occupied an extremely large tract of land. With the Civil War, division crept into the community of Seaford. In 1865, towards the end of the war, this town became incorporated. The incorporation occurred with the help of a Councilman - Alderman form of government, which is still present today.
