Crest Hill History
Crest Hill was originally known as Stern Park. It was developed by Dominic Romano. Crest Hill was officially incorporated in 1960, because residents feared annexation by the City of Joliet. The city is famous as the place where the notorious serial killer John Wayne Gacy was executed with lethal injection at the Stateville Correctional Center.
