Loves Park History
Loves Park was named after Malcolm Love who was an industrialist in the adjacent city of Rockford. Mr. Love purchased 236 acres of land three miles North of Rockford, alongside the Rock River. He used this property to hold social events where he invited his industrialist friends. The area became known as Love’s Park and saw commercial, as well as residential, development in the following years.
