Westfield History

Westfield was founded by Ambrose Osborne, Simon Barker, Asa Bales, and Simon Moon on May 6, 1834. It was originally established as a stop on the Underground Railroad. Westfield was incorporated as a city on January 1, 2008. It is located in Hamilton county, which was created in 1823, and named in honor of Alexander Hamilton, the first United States Secretary of the Treasury.
