Introduction to Waverly, Iowa
Waverly, Iowa is located 17 miles NW of Waterloo, Iowa (center to center) and is 156 miles S of St. Paul, Minnesota. It is in Bremer County.
The Winnebago Native Americans were the original inhabitants of the present day City of Waverly. It was first settled by the whites in the 1850s. Frederick Cretzmeyer is said to be the first permanent settler of the area. The city was incorporated on April 25, 1859. It is believed that the city was named after the Waverley novels of Sir Walter Scott. The first school of the area was established in 1854 by Charles Ensign.

Things To Do In Waverly
The Waverly Rail Trail is a scenic bike trail that connects Waverly to Denver. The Waverly Golf Course and Centennial Oaks Golf and Country Club are ideal destinations for the golf lovers. In addition, the city also offers two disc golf courses. Shopping can be enjoyed at the South Side Shopping Center, Willow Lawn Mall, and Village Square Mall. Every year the Bremer County Fair is also organized in the city.
