Pratt is in Pratt County, which was founded on February 26, 1867. Pratt was named in honor of Caleb S. Pratt, who was a Bostonian and a 2nd Lieutenant for the Union at the time of Civil War. Previously, the area was a hunting ground for the Kiowa Indians.
