Elsmere, Kentucky is 13 miles SW of Cincinnati, Ohio. It is in Kenton county. The city is part of the Cincinnati metro area.

Elsmere History

The city of Elsmere is located in the Bluegrass Region. It is situated in Kenton County, which was established in 1840. The city was named after a street called Elsmere Avenue in Norwood, Ohio. The city in the beginning was sparsely populated and gradually developed with the early settlers, who visited the area in around 1839. In the early 1800s, the city served as a coach stop aside the Montgomery Road. Elsmere was incorporated in 1896. The arrival of Marietta and Cincinnati Railroad and the Cincinnati, Lebanon and Northern Railway helped the city to develop.
