Carencro History
Carencro area was settled by white men until the arrival of the Acadians. Some of them were allotted lands along Bayou Carencro. Jean and Marin Mouton were among the first settlers on Bayou Carencro. At that time vacheries were being established. The first post office was set up in 1872. The first telegraph reached in 1884 and the first telephone was set up in 1894.
