The city of St. Gabriel is located in Iberville Parish, Louisiana. The city is part of the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Statistical Area. St. Gabriel was incorporated as a town in 1994 and gained recognition as a city in 2001. The city was founded by the Acadians after they were expelled from Nova Scotia in the mid 1700s.
