Introduction to Northbridge, Massachusetts
The early residents of Northbridge were the Nipmuc, or "small Pond People." The Europeans were the first to settle in Northbridge in 1704. More than 50% of the town’s land was owned by Colonel Seth Read during the time of American Revolution. Northbridge was once a part of Uxbridge and Mendon and was incorporated on July 4, 1772.
