Bellefontaine Neighbors is a city located in the Saint Louis metro area. The region was invaded by the Spanish in the early 18th century, and they eventually settled down in the area. The urban settlement was founded in the North St. Louis County in the middle of the 19th century. The city of Bellefontaine Neighbors was first incorporated in 1950. It experienced tremendous growth during the period of 1950 to 1960.
