Cameron, Missouri is located 32 miles E of St. Joseph, Missouri (center to center) and is 47 miles NE of Kansas City, Missouri. It is in Clinton county and is part of the Kansas City metro area.
Cameron History
Isaac Baldwin was among the first settlers to arrive in the region in 1830. Samuel McCorkle platted the city in 1855. Cameron was named after the maiden name of Samuel McCorkle’s wife, Malinda Cameron. In the early years, the city was a major stopping point for the Mormons traveling to historical sites.
