Carl Junction History
Carl Junction was formed along with many other towns as a way station for the new railroad spur lines that emerged in the area. The first train traveled through Carl Junction in 1879. In August 1892, the city attracted the nation's attention when the fossils of two infant and two adult elephants were found in the area.
