Tennessee graduate schools awarded over 1650 graduate degrees from 39 colleges in 2008-2009. Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga, Johnson City and Cleveland have the greatest number of graduate schools in Tennessee. Popular graduate degree programs include Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Masters in Nursing (MSN) and Masters in Public Health (MPH).

There are 29 business schools in Tennessee that offer MBA programs. There are many types of MBA degrees including an MBA in Accounting, Economics, Entrepreneurial Management, Finance, Marketing, Operations and Technology Management.
