Signal Mountain History
Signal Mountain was used by Native Americans in the past to send smoke and fire signals across the Tennessee Valley. It was originally known as Signal Point and was a communications station at the time of the American Civil War. It was chartered as the Town of Signal Mountain in 1919. The town experienced growth in the 1970s.
