Highland Village, Texas, in Denton county, is 4 miles NW of Lewisville, Texas (center to center) and 24 miles N of Arlington, Texas. The city is conveniently located inside the Dallas metropolitan area.

Highland Village History

Highland Village was incorporated as a city in February 1963. The city experienced massive growth after the opening of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The early residents of Highland Village were mostly professionals from Dallas. Though a number of businesses developed in the area, Highland Village is primarily a residential city. It adopted a Home Rule Charter in 1986.
