Pleasant Grove History
Pleasant Grove was first settled on July 19, 1850 by Mormon pioneers called John Mercer, William H. Adams, and Philo T. Farnsworth. It was established as a small community on September 13, 1850. Pleasant Grove was incorporated on January 18, 1855 with 623 citizens. It was initially named as Battle Creek. Later on, it was renamed after a grove of cottonwood trees.
