Twin Lakes History
Twin Lakes was originally home to various Native American tribes. It was given its name because of its location on the Elizabeth and Mary lakes, which are known as the twin lakes. The first large hotel in the area was built in 1835, and the first school of Twin Lakes was established in 1904. The village was officially incorporated in 1937.
