AIU Online is the web-based branch of American Intercontinental University, an international, multi-campus career-oriented school. While American Intercontinental University was founded in Europe in 1970, AIU Online was launched more recently in 2001, the same year that Career Education Corporation purchase the university. The online school's offices are located in Illinois, but the school is accessible virtually everywhere that a quality web connection can be obtained. AIU Online offers online associate, bachelor's and master's degrees. Available programs include accounting, business, criminal justic, education, IT and health care management.
American InterContinental University is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. To contact the Higher Learning Commission please visit www.hlcommission.org.
AIU Online employs real-world professionals willing to pass on their applicable experience to their students. Professors are industry specialists ready to provide their students with practical insights about their chosen field. Faculty use their diverse backgrounds and professional experience to teach students a solution-based skill set desired by employers.
Although the school operates as a virtual campus, students do have the opportunity to interact with each other online. Students can use the Intellipath Personalized Learning technology during theirs studies. The technology system creates a personalized map based on specialized curriculum, allowing the student to read, listen, or watch course content according to how the student learns best. Intellipath also allows students to skip over material that they already know, creating a more efficient learning timeline. AIU provides a digital library as well as mobile learning apps. Students can talk to their academic advisor about different pacing options and learning tracks, including the option of blended learning for those living near a AIU campus. The AIU Alumni Association allows graduates of the school to stay connected after graduation.
