Delgado Community College, which is located in New Orleans, Louisiana, was established as Delgado Central Trades School in 1921, with funds that Isaac Delgado bequeathed to the City of New Orleans for a manual trade school for young boys. The college was given its present name in 1980. Programs are offered at the certificate, apprenticeship and associate degree level. The academic divisions of the college are as follows:
The college is a member of the Louisiana Collegiate Intramural-Recreational Sports Association. The athletics teams are known as the Dolphins. Students participate in intramural sports like basketball, soccer, softball, volleyball, and flag-football. Financial aid is provided to eligible students in the form of grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study programs. Some of the scholarships provided are the Academic Scholarship, the Honors Scholarship, the Leadership Scholarship, and the Music Scholarship (provided at the City Park Campus only).
