Founded in 1982, Florida Technical College (FTC) is a system of technical colleges with six campus locations throughout Florida. The school provides career-focused, hands-on learning in the fields of health care, business, beauty, information technology, criminal justice, HVAC and culinary arts. The school offers associate and bachelor's degrees as well as professional diploma programs. Class schedules at FTC are flexible with both day and evening classes available. The school also offers some of its courses online.
Florida Technical College is nationally-accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).
The faculty at Florida Technical College are charged with providing students with the occupational skills needed to obtain employment in entry-level positions after graduation. Training is provided in a hands-on, career-focused manner. Faculty provide a supportive environment through small class sizes and individualized attention in an attempt to aid each student's learning and personal growth.
Florida Technical College is a commuter-based school. As such, students are required to meet their own housing needs since FTC does not provide on-campus student housing. Enrolled students will receive their own iPad where their textbooks will be provided in e-book format. Students can expect to experience the school's "focused learning" program where they will only take one class per month. The school believes this aids learning by allowing students to focus on just one course at a time. Flexible day, evening, and online classes are available. Students may also take advantage of FTC's career services department. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.
