The Institute of Audio Research, also known as IAR, is located in New York. Established in 1969, the institute concentrates on teaching students about the audio fundamentals related to the music production techniques.

Students of the Institute of Audio Research are offered a wide variety of academic programs in the field of music production and audio engineering. One can choose from courses in audio electronics, digital music production, mixing music, and audio processing and storage, among others.

The Institute of Audio Research offers various funding programs for the students. Apart from Federal Pell grants, the students can also apply for the William D. Ford direct loan program, SLM credit based career loan, and Veterans Educational benefit programs. The institute also provides students entry-level employment assistance in the audio industry.
