The Institute of Technology (IOT) is a system of vocational schools with three campus locations in California and one in Oregon. Founded in 2004, the school provides career training programs in allied health, network technology, computerized accounting, culinary arts, computer technology, web and graphic design, and several skilled trades among others areas. Upon program completion, the Institute of Technology awards graduates professional diplomas or certifications. Associate degrees are also available with some programs. Some career programs can be completed in as little as eight months.
The Institute of Technology is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
The faculty at the Institute of Technology seek to deliver a quality education that prepares students with the knowledge and technical skills they need to be competitive in the job market. Classroom instruction is used in combination with hands-on practical learning experiences. Curriculum is career-based, allowing students to focus on gaining the industry-specific knowledge and core skills needed for entry-level employment in their chosen field.
The Institute of Technology is a commuter-based school and does not offer on-campus housing for its students. Most students live in the areas surrounding the campus. IOT offers flexible class schedules, allowing students to take courses at several different times throughout the day. Training at the school is career-focused, with some programs able to be completed in about eight months. Students may take advantage of the school's social media community to stay connected to IOT. A career services department is available. There, students can receive personalized job placement advice and assistance. Financial aid and military tuition assistance is available to those who qualify.
