Los Angeles Southwest College, also referred to as LASC, is located in an unincorporated area in Los Angeles, California, United States. It was established in 1967 and opened its doors to the public in September of that year. It was established in response to the complaint, of local officials and citizens, that not enough was being done to educate the African-American population, which was a majority in the area. Today, the student population is almost evenly divided between African-Americans and Hispanics.

The men's and women's sports teams of the college are called the Cougars and Lady Cougars respectively. The official mascot is the Cougar. Students participate in football, basketball, cross country, and various other track & field events.
